Been Gone Too Long & Christmas Tradition # 4

I have MISSED blogging for the past little while!
Who knew when I started this little blog six + months ago that it would become such a fun, therapeutic hobby for me but it truly is!!!

However, I've been away for a good reason
.
.
.
My little brother got married last weekend!

My little family and I got to take a fun {but looong} road trip to Utah for his wedding.
{Plus, we stuck around the area for a few days to spend some time with old friends and to do some shopping.  Shopping is FABULOUS in Utah...oh the deals you can score!!!}

So because I've been away from home for almost a week, I am so behind on our family's usual Christmas traditions.
Like this one:
Friend + Neighbor gifts.

This year we are gifting therapeutic rice bags.
I gave a tutorial for these earlier in the year {click here}.
I still need to sew the tops, wrap each one up in classy Christmas-y ribbon, and attach a little note with directions like this one {click here}.
I hope to finish these in the next couple of days and gift them out by the end of the week.
By the way, where has the month of December gone?!?
Is anyone else asking it to slow down???
I'm trying to soak all the goodness of this Christmas season in but there are days when it feels more like I'm drowning in things to do.
I need to take some time to slow down...and just sit.
Sit and enjoy the lights on the Christmas tree.
Here's to hoping we all can squeeze in some time this week for just simply sitting by the Christmas tree to enjoy the sights and smells of Christmas.

  1. Those rice bags are cute, and a simple/cheap idea for gifts!
