Make Your Home a Haven From the World - Day 22

 (source)

Comparison is the thief of joy.  Man.  I've been learning a lot of lessons about that lately and experiencing a lot of wake up calls internally because of it.  And I'm okay with that.  Learning and growing brings change and that's what I want to always be striving to do.  That's what this life is for.  To learn and to grow to be more like our Savior everyday.  So to combat the evil monster of comparing your things or your life to that of someone else, practice gratitude!!!  I don't think it's bad to want to improve things, but be grateful for what you do have in life.  Try to be a little more like Pollyanna.  It takes effort, but there is good in almost every circumstance.  Having gratitude makes people happier!  Set aside a time every day to share something you and your family are grateful for.  We try to do this as we're eating dinner.  Everyone goes around the table and shares two things that they're grateful for that day.  It makes a world of difference to focus on the good.
