Make Your Home a Haven From the World - Day 5

"Someone has said that there is no more beautiful picture than that of a good woman cooking a meal for those she loves." - Gordon B. Hinckley
Last night I made stew with some carrots from our garden.  I baked some quick french bread too using this recipe.  Oh man, our house smelt so good!  I think our homes feel so cozy when we're cooking up good food for our family.  It's like heaven on earth!  Now, I don't want you to get the idea that I cook up a perfectly healthy meal every night of the week.  I don't.  There are seriously days when my husband is working really late and my children and I are perfectly happy eating cold cereal for dinner.  But I loooove it when I have the time to make a hearty meal for my family.  I think our homes feel so warm and inviting when we're cooking for those we love and it's just one more way we can make our homes feel like a haven from the world.  I mean, who doesn't love coming home after a long day to a good home cooked meal?  :)

P.S.  - This is one of my favorite quotes:
Women who make a house a home make a far greater contribution to society than those who command large armies or stand at the head of impressive corporations. - Gordon B. Hinckley

  1. That bread looks DELICIOUS! Such a great fall dinner. I just recently became a stay-at-home mom and have been able to make more home cooked meals. It makes me feel good to provide for my family this way, and my husband loves it too!
