Well, the other day I was complaining to my mom about this very thing and she gave me this quick tip:
Turn them into sock dusters!
Just slide your hand in and Walaa!
Perfect for little hands who want to help out with household chores!

That is a great idea! We have a basket of socks without a match. I feel better using them up than throwing them out.
Now why didn't I think of that.. cool!!
Or you can use a small lingerie bag for each persons socks and then you just don't have extra socks ;)
Our family has pin cushions in each person's bedroom, and they safety pin the toes of their socks together before putting them in the dirty clothes laundry. I wash them that way and then when the kids take out a pair of socks to wear, they put the safety pin back into one of the pin cushions.
It's been an easy way to keep matching socks together!
