During the month of December, I'm going to share with you some of our family's favorite Christmas traditions...
the things we do that really make
this time of year special for us.
Our very first Christmas tradition every year is to go out and buy a real Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving.
My husband and I started this tradition the first Christmas that we were married.
I'm not a morning person, but during the month of December I sort of become one because I LOVE waking up to the smell of our Christmas Tree.
It smells so fresh + happy!
Feel free to share any of your family's Christmas traditions in the comments section.
During this month, I'd love to hear what you do to make this time of year really special for you and your loved ones!

Traditions are so important. It's so fun to see the family excited about activities you all do together.
Do you have any tips on how to keep your Christmas tree as freshas can be expected -- you buy it super early in the season?! ;) thanks!
Shel,
We buy our tree the day after Thanksgiving and as we arrive at the Christmas tree lot, we sometimes actually see them take the trees off the big trucks, so we know they're pretty fresh. Then as soon as we get home we cut about an inch off the bottom and put the tree in water. We check the water every day to keep it fresh and sometimes add 7-up to the tree water. {apparently it is supposed to help keep it flame retardant}. All this seems to work great! Even today {December 15th, I can still smell the tree when I walk in the house, it smells so fresh!}
